Clinton-Corners is a hamlet located in the peaceful countryside of the Hudson River Valley region, north of New York City. It's part of Clinton Township in Dutchess County, which also contains the hamlets of Clinton Hollow, Schultzille, Pleasant Plains, Hibernia and Bullshead. This is one of the most historic regions of the state, named after George Clinton, governor of New York during the Revolutionary War. There are four historic sights located in Clinton Corners, including Upton Lake Grange, which was constructed by Quakers in 1777 as the Creek Meeting House. Although the Hudson River extends for 315, many of its' attractions are located within 100 miles of Clinton Township. Some of the highlights include the Hudson River Maritime Museum in Kingston, the Clermont State Historic Park and Roosevelt-Vanderbilt National Historic Sights. The Hudson Valley surrounding Clinton Corners is also one of America's most historic wine regions. The Dutchess Wine Trail and Shawangunk Wine Trail host several special events throughout the year. Recreation on the river includes boating, fishing, swimming, hiking and picnicking. Nearby Bear Mountain offers mountain biking, golf, fishing and boating and wintertime activities like cross-country skiing and sledding.

Clinton Corners Weather & Climate

The Hudson Valley Region which generally refers to the canyon area of the Hudson River and surrounding communities in New York State, has a four-season climate. The first significant snowfall usually occurs in December, but there are variations. Some years there is no snow or ice and the temperatures and river stays quite mild - high 40s to low 50s. March is the month to look for the first signs of spring. Summers in the Hudson Valley are hazy, warm and humid. September can be a mixed bag of clear, cool Canadian air or humid, warm air with intense downpours. October is one of the best months in the region for hiking and other outdoor sports. The weather is cooler and less humid then, with crisp, clear views of the High Peaks of the Adirondacks, the Catskills and the Hudson Highlands.
